​Created in preparation for the Raintown Film Festival, It Never Rains in Kuala Lumpur is a poignant meditation on grief, memory, and belonging. Following the death of a loved one, the short film traces a young woman’s emotional journey as she grapples with loss and the feeling of displacement. Shot on location in both Kuala Lumpur and Sekinchan, the film delicately weaves past and present—exploring how one can move forward while still honouring what’s been left behind. Written and directed by Lee Yong Yong, the film is currently in submission to a number of local and international film festivals.
